Sofa Question AnsweredI was asked what I'm doing with the sofa and thought I'd just go ahead and answer in an entry. Right now I'm still sewing the seam together along the front/back of it. (That is opposed to the back/back of it, if you know what I mean). Bethany has been helping me from time to time with the sewing, but its slow going, mostly because I have to stand up and bend over to do it. I've taken all the extra stuffing out of the arms - there were these overstuffed pillow things attached to the arms that were driving me crazy. Once I get the back sewn up, I'm going to make a cushion thing to go along right there where your back would touch. We purchased some almost like pillow form type stuff from Hobby Lobby a while back and plan to cut it to fit the area. I'm going to cover it with some fabric to keep it from getting eaten by the dog, we hope! I still need to decide what to do with the arms. The way the sofa was built is wonderful because I'm able to get all this stuff off without having to get into the fabric stuff that's sewn all on it. It seems the denim was put on top of all the other stuff and so that makes my job 100 times easier. Right now I have the love seat turned backwards so the dog can't jump up there and mess with stuff as I have all the supplies sitting on the cushions. Also, I have the leather draped and tucked over the seat cushions. I'm not sure how I'm going to sew them yet. I figure Charlie's the leather expert, he can help me! :) I'll be using the hair-on scraps and other material for pillows and think it will look really neat once finished. I'll have to see about taking some pictures so ya'll know what I'm talking about. We're planning on taking a drive down to Ft. Worth on Tuesday. Charlie needs to go to the warehouse and pick out some stuff for his store and its been ever so long since the kids and I went to Texas! I could live there so easily! Tuesday is also Bethany's 12th birthday and although we can't afford to do much for her, it will make the day special. Too bad we can't afford a quick jaunt through Six Flags. I should probably get back to cleaning. I've washed all the dishes and straightened the kitchen. Earlier I gave Larken a raw potato so she would let the kids sleep, well, she got the pieces all over the living room. We're talking potato explosion! So I got all that picked up plus some cardboard she destroyed last night, then vacuumed. I've been having some trouble lately with my left knee and its really giving me fits right now. All I want to do is sit or lay down and rest. Yesterday I had two doses of Tylenol and two doses of Advil. Charlie has some Blue Stuff so I may break down and use it. I'd like to be able to wait until nighttime to do that, but we'll see. I'd better get lunch on the table or else I may have a mutiny by some hungry natives! { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 108 of 288 } { Next Page } |
