Today's the Big Day!Today is the day the boys begin their volunteer work at the library. Please keep them in prayer. I've tried my best to give helpful pointers (ask questions if you need help or don't understand something, etc.) and have prayed for them, but I must admit that I'm a little nervous for them. It isn't like its a paying job, but as I told them, it is the first. A paying job will come later and these people will write you a reference if you work hard. It was LATE before they fell asleep last night. I finally went to bed about 12:30 and just gave up on them falling asleep. Charlie gets in tonight around 9:30. Its a good thing we homeschool, otherwise I'd be worried about the kids staying up late. I'm not sure if public school is out here or not. It must be with the library reading program starting today. Amazingly none of Bethany's friends have come by to ask if she could play. This is the time of year I dread. I like the kids having friends and all, but having to go through the process of letting the friends know that we have school in the mornings during the summer sometimes gets a bit frustrating. There are some kids who you tell once and that's all there is to it. Others, I have to spend days letting them know. Normally, I tell them we have school and the kids will be outside when they are finished. Bethany and I are talking about working on her Training Our Daughters to be Keepers at Home work while the boys are at the library. We can't ever seem to find the time to work on it and this seems perfect. We are taking a few weeks off school right now. I want to see how the days go with the boys' volunteer work, how long we might have to study, how long to drive, etc. Also, Bethany will be gone the first week in June. My Mom's having surgery June 1 and we're taking Bethany down June 2 to stay the week and help Mom with whatever she needs. We're going to have to do something a bit different for birthdays this year. Normally we have her and Charlie's "party" on the same day. Her birthday is May 29 and his is June 3 - by the way, we don't really have a party. We go to Charlie's parents home for dinner and cake. I need to call them and let them know she won't be here when we'd normally do it so we may have to do it early. One more year and then I have three teenagers! I won't tell you how old Charlie will be, but I will tell you that he's 5 whole, gigantic years older than me! :) He'll be 42, Bethany will be 12, Dallas will be 15, Cody will be 14, Larken just turned 1, Holly will be 5, and I'll be 37. Joe & Shiloh (who are staying at my sister's house because we can only have two pets here and I couldn't split them up) turned 5 in January and March of this year. More info than you wanted, huh?! :) { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 114 of 288 } { Next Page } |
