Quiet Life Homestead

I wasn't able to post yesterday and wanted to give you a quick update.  Yesterday we picked up a weed eater at my Mom's house (near OKC).  The one we were suposed to get wasn't all there - a bit disappointing.  Since Mom works two jobs she doesn't have much time to do things like mow the lawn and the city keeps sending people out to do it with a high price tag.  The neighbor to her east is now in the habit of running them off, but that still leaves the tall grass.  He's going to check into getting some goats and opening up the fence between his "yard" and hers - they are each on about 1 acre, so that would be almost two acres for them to gnaw on.  Mom's yard is divided into three parts: the back one will be mostly for the goats, then you have the middle yard which also had high grass and weeds, and the front yard which she is able to keep pretty low.  Charlie, the kids, and I weed eated at mowed the middle part and got it almost all the way done.  I've never before used a lawn mower (push type) and it was kinda fun, but also hard with all the tall stuff.  Dallas already knew how to use one, so it was more of a chore for him, but Cody and Bethany got to use one for the first time.  We each took turns on the weed eater (we've all used those before) and when Bethany wasn't out working with us, she was inside cooking with Mom.

We got finished and ate dinner, then decided to go see what was in the back shed (I'm still looking for some material that I have somewhere).  Its so much in need to be worked on that we decided that we'd just come back another time, open the big doors on the end and clean it all out.  Charlie, Dallas, Bethany, and I started back to the house while Mom and Cody were still in the shed.  About five minutes later, they came inside and announced that they had found another weed eater out there, plugged it in, and it worked.  So we ended up with a weed eater after all, PRAISE GOD!!!!  We'd planned on having a gas one, but maybe the electric one will be cheaper for us to run!

I'm exhausted, its so hard to type because my arms are so sore.  I don't mind though, it felt real good to be buisy.  I've told this story, not so that people will think, "Look, she helped her Mom.........."  I told it to tell of God's wonderful blessings and how when we stayed and helped out, not complaining about the time wasted in driving, nor the gas, we just did what needed to be done.  And He blessed us.  He provided and ALL the glory goes to HIM!!!!!!

Lastly, we may go to the ren fair today.  I'm suposed to be on here checking the weather.  Better get off!
