Quiet Life Homestead

Beth Moore

I had posted earlier that the kids and I were going to do a Beth Moore study for part of our homeschool.  Ray at Wisdom Farms alerted me that she's into and endorsing some pretty bad stuff.  I'll try to copy and paste the sites he gave me so you can read them if you're interested.  Okay, it isn't working so go to www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com and read the links having to do with a DVD entitled Be Still.

Thank you, Ray, for letting me know about this.  Unfortunately I've alredy purchased the books, so now I've got to decide what to do with them.  Under the circumstances I don't want to expose the children to her teaching.  She may not talk about this alternative prayer stuff in this study, but I don't want the kids to think she's okay.

My battery is running out so I have to turn the computer off now!

There are some well known Christian names on there. This is definitely worth more investigating. I really like alot of Beth Moore's books, this is disappointing. Thank you for sharing the link and please post if you see more like it.

There is nothing wrong with contemplative prayer....nothing AT ALL. No reason to be afraid and burn her books. Contemplative prayer means that you center yourself in the quiet so that you can truly hear God when he speaks to you. It is not anti-Christian, regardless of what the brainwashing site you linked to states. Do more research, don't base your opinions on what one person says.

I have to agree with the other post. Please do some more research before making a decision based on someone else's opinion. Many of the names listed on the homepage are well thought of, and are read by many Christian scholars. I'm familiar with many of the names listed under Christian Mystics of the Past, and would not hesitate to read of them or things by them. At least look into it yourself before making a decision.

God bless, Fiona
