Quiet Life Homestead

Saturday

We made it through the night.  Actually the storm pretty much died before it got to us.  We did get a bit of wind and rain, but only a little.  And this morning its downright cold.  Okay, its around 60, but after what we've been having lately, it came as a bit of a shock.

Today's the last day of counting!  Well, if we get it done.  I pray we do, because I do NOT want to be counting tomorrow.  Charlie says that if we get finished then we're going to the lake to do some fishing, just to decompress a little.  We'll bring our Bibles and do some reading and studying lakeside, just praising Him and enjoying the world He created.  We won't be taking Larken.  It seems each time we take her someplace she gets sick.  She's still recovering (quite nicely) from the staph infection.  We still have the second antibiotics that she gets twice a day.  She pinned the cat down yesterday while Bethany and I were at the house, so I guess she's feeling all back to normal.

We stopped and got my ham & cheese croissant and some bagels and schmere this morning.  The wheat bagel was (I'm not joking) just like two ends of wheat bread!  What a waste of good schmere!  I gave that half to Cody, so he enjoyed it.  What he and I do is half the croissant and then half two bagels.  So I got half a croissant and half a bagel this morning, with my ever so present Coke.  I know, I was doing really well avoiding the Coke, but it seems that since we've been here and counting that I've gone back to old habits.  I'll be able to work on it better when this week's over.  We've been eating so much fast food that it's crazy.  I can really tell a difference in how I feel.  We had Subway yesterday, but ordering five different sandwiches gets a little nerve wracking!

Off to counting!

You'll be so thankful when all that counting is done! And I use to drink coke all the time until I heard how bad it is for your bones...but you know what...I just replaced it with another bad habit...coffee! Can't seem to shake the caffeine!

Glad you missed the storm. We got some of the rain and wind too. Thankfully no tornados this time, but the season is far from over. Good luck getting done with counting so you can enjoy the lake.
