Quiet Life Homestead

It's been a day or two since I've written an entry.  We had a wonderful visit with my sister and two of her children.  Cody and Bethany slept in this morning until 10am!  I knew they were tired when they fell asleep in the car yesterday after running errands.  We'll start back up with school next Monday and are going to use the last few days of the week resting, cleaning, and donating items.

I have a blessing to tell ya'll about.  We've been given a car!  Yep, a car.  The guy who used to own the store that Charlie is now the manager of had an "old" car that he and his family no longer needed.  It's (get ready for this) a 1997 Ford Mustang!  The only thing wrong with it as far as we know is the radio was stolen.  Charlie bought a new one and will probably put it in this weekend.  The reason we were given the car is because we only had one and if I needed the car, I'd have to take him to work.  It's hard getting used to having two vehicles, we've been married almost 18 years and have always just had one vehicle.  Now, I'm going to have to work on training myself to not need to run into town all the time.  I think I'll do like they did in previous generations and plan my trips.  Ok, I know some people do that now, I'm just a little slow on the uptake.    Ew!  I just noticed the new smileys.  DON'T like em!  Hopefully we'll get the old ones back.

So I ordered some Rod and Staff today.  I hope to get the curriculum in soon.  I forgot to ask how long it takes.

I think that's all for right now.  We're gonna eat some ice cream and watch a movie or two.

Oh, good luck. I know that some are good at not running to town but I really have to make myself stay home. I should only go to town one day a week, on Thursdays, but I rarely do that. I trully need to do better especially with gas rising again. Anyway, praise the Lord on your new car.
Blessings,
Trixi

Sometimes it's difficult to stay at home especially when you "need" to run into town to pick something up. It also can get quite expensive. Make a list and try going one day a week and no more. I hope to be able to order the kid's math soon. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality this last week. And I'm glad Larken is back to herself (maybe I'll "get out of the phone") Love ya!
