Tuesday - A Little Background and Irish Blessing

{ 05:13, Tuesday, March 13, 2007 } { Posted in Daily Living } { 0 comments } { Link }

Top of the morning to ye!  I thought that since I couldn't sleep, I could at least write my blog before the children woke up!  I'm hoping Charlie's back is feeling better so we won't need to drive him to work.  I really don't mind doing it, the problem is the wasted gas and time.  Of course, I shouldn't think of it as wasted since it is done to help him, but that's how I think of it.

Since it is March and Saint Patrick's Day is coming up, I thought I'd discuss a bit of my heritage.  On my Dad's side, I'm Scottish (his Dad), Choctaw & Chickasaw (his Mom), on my Mom's side I'm Irish (her Dad), and another tribe (her Mom) we don't know which tribe, but have begun researching it.  I do have my membership in the Choctaw tribe but I've never asked for a dime from them, and thus the research on the other is just for informational purposes.  So anyway, with two indian tribes (for sure) and Irish and Scottish heritage, I do have a bit of a tendency to have a bit of a temper, although I don't show it to my children or husband (most of the time).  I love it when we go to the Scottish games here, everyone gives Charlie a good ribbing (his ancestors were English, and indian).  They like to joke with him though about marrying up by marrying someone who's Scottish and Irish!

Anyway, I thought that this morning instead of telling you all I hope to accomplish, I'd give you some background and also my favorite Irish blessing and then post later all those very important, world changing things I've accomplished during the day!    So here's the blessing that I've loved and repeated for years.  I keep saying that I'm going to put it on a pillow or something although I haven't yet:

          May those who love us, love us

          And those who don't love us,

          May God turn their hearts.

          And if He doesn't turn their hearts,

          May He turn their ankles,

          So we may know them by their limping!

Have a great, world changing day!
