Quiet Life Homestead | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
FridayMy house is SO quiet! It's almost 9am and you wouldn't guess that we have three children, a dog, and a cat. We didn't stay up much longer than normal last night, so I'm not sure why all the sleepy heads. But I am enjoying it. I really would like a cup of coffee, but if I make it, the younger two (I almost called them the Wacky Pack - their nickname) would wake up. Yes, I do allow my children to have coffee, if they would like. I know it isn't very good for them (or at least that's what I've heard), but I figure one cup a day would probably be alright. I got my Charity Ministries catalog and copy of The Godly Home last night. Our mail actually comes in the morning, but checking the mail is one of the things my hubby likes to do and I enjoy him doing it. The boys are learning to do more of the "manly" things around the home, to try to take some of the pressure off dad and to help us girls out. I do have to say, the funniest thing happened to me last night. One of the lights in our bathroom had gone out yesterday morning - the light right over Charlie's sink. Since he gets up early (in our home, 6:00 is early) and he irons his own clothing, he really needs the light. I had forgotten about it until last night since I try to not use lights during the day. So here I am, in my dress (yes, I wore a dress yesterday and it felt great) up on the counter so I can change this lightbulb as a gift to him. When I get the glass thingy (I can't remember the name of it) that goes around the light bulb almost off, I accidentally bump the light bulb that is already in it and the light bulb comes back on! Oh yeah, back to the Charity Ministries thing (see how skatterbrained I am without my morning coffee?!). I didn't realize the CD is an MP3. I had put it in my player last night, dying to listen to the Hidden Woman part, and it wouldn't work. I'll have to play it on the computer later today once the kids are up and the schooling's done. Finally, I got another row of cornerstones done. I think I have either 2 or 3 rows left to go. I've finished Reb Bradly's teachings on Godly Femininity so I'm going to have to choose another to listen to. I have a series he did called Brother Sister Relationships (Teaching our sons and daughters to honor each other as men and women), Avoiding the Home School "Cult" Mentality, For Wives: Following the Leader Through Good and Bad, and Beverly's Becoming Your Husband's Helpmate. Decisions, decisions. I'm going to pray about it and see what God would have me to do. Finally, finally....(I warned you about the coffee thing Thanks for reading...
