Quiet Life Homestead

Prayers Requested

February is a tough month for my family, especially for my Mom.  I'll try to tell you why without being too depressing.  My Dad's birthday is this month, which reminds us (as if we needed reminding) that he is no longer with us.  He died of brain cancer January 2002.  My grandma (my Mom's Mom) passed away two years ago after a long ilness and then one week later my aunt (you guessed it, Mom's sister and only sibling) and my uncle died in an unexpected fashion, leaving behind their 20 something daughter.

Mom had always depended on Dad for a living (like lots of us do with our husbands) and has had to work two jobs to try to make it.  She's doing pretty good (she says her neck's just above the water ) but this time of the year is REALLY hard.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Also, my cousin who I mentioned above needs prayer.  I'm not sure how she's doing since she lives several states away and doesn't have time to return phone calls, e-mails, or letters.  We're praying that God will pull her close to Him and He'll give her a chance to accept His love and salvation.

My sister's family has had some private issues that they're trying to work through.

Lastly, I had previously requested prayer for something in our family.  Our mortgage company is giving us problems, a long story, basically stemming from miscomunication.  We finally had it all out Tuesday and everything's going to be okay.  They kept raising our payment (even though we don't have an ARM) and since we took over payments from my Mom who took over payments from my Grandma, they we're being a little bit snippy.  God is great though!  Not only has He worked all these out, put He's given us the vision to work extra hard to pay the loan off early.

Finally, please ask God to keep blessing my husband, Charlie.  His magazine cover and article should be out in March and they are asking him to do another cover and article for another upcoming issue and have asked if he would write more articles for them!  Some of his leatherwork is going to be in a gallery in Dallas, TX; which reminds me...we need to get the bio written.  We're praying this will all lead eventually to us getting a homestead.  I'll tell you more later, when I can.

Vicki
