I've recently discovered a new recipe for making Iced Tea - it doesn't make as much as my usual recipe .... but this one is, I think, really tasty (Don and the kids aren't really fond of it, so that means that I actually get some of this stuff, lol).
Iced Chai Tea
4 cups boiling water
6 - 8 chai tea bags
1/2 cup milk
sugar
steep tea bags in the boiling water for 4 minutes
remove tea bags
add the milk and sweeten to taste
place jug (or whatever container you used) in the fridge to chill completely
Last night I tried out an experiment for supper and it turned out fantastic - everyone agreed that it was a make again meal (even Josh, although his response wasn't nearly as enthusiastic as Charlotte's, lol)
Quick and Easy Supper
1 pound hamburger
1 large can kidney beans, drained
1/2 jar of spaghetti sauce
fry the hamburger up, season it to taste, then add the kidney beans and the 1/2 jar of spaghetti sauce. Heat thoroughly.
Serve over rice.
That's it!!!! How easy is that?????? It doesn't really matter what flavour of spaghetti sauce you use, I used a jar of the Classico stuff, but if you can your own that would work, too.

Emergency Rations
≈ 3 cups rolled oats
≈ 2 1/2 cups powdered milk
≈ 1/2 package lemon or orange gelatin
≈ 1 cup sugar
≈ 2 Tablespoons honey
≈ 3 Tablespoons water
* Place oats, powdered milk and sugar in a bowl.
* Add water to honey and bring to a boil.
* Dissolve gelatin in honey/water mixture and add to dry ingredients.
* After mixing well, add additional water (a teaspoon at a time), until the mixture is barely moist enough to be molded.
* Shape into two bars.
* Dry the bars in the oven under low heat, wrap in foil & place them in a covered container for indefinite storage.
* Each bar contains sufficient food for one day.
* You can eat the bar dry or cook it in about a pint of water.
