Looking for input

I have been debating for quite some time about making my own laundry soap - we have a front loading washer and dryer and in the User Manual it says to use HD (I believe that's the initials, if it isn't I apologize as I am just going from memory instead of actually going to the laundry room and checking the book, lol) laundry soap.

My question to those who have made there own laundry soap (and I'm talking mainly about the kind that is in the Tutorials section to the left on my blog) - have you used it successfully in a front loading machine?

Thanks for any input on this subject that you can pass my way.

I had a front load washer before the childrens father moved out and i used the homemade powder detergent.. I love it.. It worked great and was such a money savings... I still use the homemade powder type in my top load.. Now when i used to have the front load i only used 1 tsp in the washer.. Make sure you use vinegar as a fabric softern this will help keep your washer cleaned out. And no you will not smell the vinegar once you dry the clothes..

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar

***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!

* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.

* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
