The most amazing discovery

Last night while we were cleaning up after Swim Up, we noticed that there was a big red stain on the counter top from the cherry juice. Danielle took a wet dishcloth, poured some bleach on it and wiped up the counter where the stain was - the stain was gone when she was done (this wasn't the amazing discovery, lol). After she was done I took the cloth, rinsed it out and wiped down the rest of the counter top. When I was done my hands had the smell of bleach on them, yuck!!! The smell of the bleach didn't really hit me until I was laying, all snuggled up, in bed (my hands are very close to my face when I fall asleep) - all I could smell was bleach and it was making me sick to my stomach. So, I crawl out of bed and head for the bathroom so that I can try and wash the smell off - Don suggested that I use some unused coffee grounds to wash my hands, which I did ...... the smell of the bleach was gone!!!!! Whenever Don has been working on engines and gets the smell of gas (or other engine smells) on his hands, he washes them with unused coffee grounds (he keeps a spice shaker of them in the bathroom for this purpose) - it takes the smell away and his hands get really clean because of the 'grittiness' of the coffee grounds. That's why he suggested the coffee grounds for the bleach smell on my hands.  |
