What a day Posted in Family Life
It certainly was an interesting day for us today. We got up very early (at least very early for us, lol), did our morning chores and then headed into the city because the kids had a dentist appointment.
We get to the dentist and Charlotte is called right away (woo hoo, no waiting time for her), after about 5 or 10 minutes the dental assistant comes out and explains that the dentist needs to pull her tooth as it has become infected (this explains why it has been hurting for her to chew on that side of her mouth). Finally Charlotte is done and Josh gets called back - they needed to make an impression of his teeth so that they can build an appliance to straighten out his overbite (before it gets as bad as mine is  ).
We finally finish up at the dentist and are on our way out of the city, headed for Mug Up. I just pull up to a stop light and I hear this loud clunking type sound - uh oh, this does not sound good at all. Thankfully the turning lane was clear and I wheeled into it, rounded the corner and pulled into a parking lot. I shut the car off and immediately phone Don (thank you Lord for cell phones), I tell him what has happened and what the car was doing (sounds, lights, etc). He tells me to phone AMA, which I do, but in the end Don came in to get us (longer story than I want to type out right now, lol).
So, after waiting for an hour, Don shows up and we get a ride to where he works - he has the car right now and I drove the truck home. Unfortunately we didn't make it to Mug Up, but fortunately this didn't happen while we were out on a back road or something and we are very blessed that Don will be able to fix the car.

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
