My New Pantries
Posted in Pictures
Last year I had bought a new baking center for my kitchen. It is so wonderful to have a place to put my Kitchen Aid, the Bread Machine (I use this to make Josh's Gluten Free bread), all my ingredients for baking and a place to put the canisters. After I had bought the baking center, I started saving my money again to buy a pantry to go beside it - this month I was able to head to Wal-Mart to buy the pantry I wanted.
After Don had finished work last night, he headed into the city to buy himself a tool box for work - where he works they supply their own tools and toolboxes. When he got home he was carrying in the counter I had wanted to go on the other side of the baking center. So, after he had had supper (the sweet and sour pork turned out fantastic), Charlotte and Don set to work building the counter (it's actually called a 3 Bin Pantry) for me.
Here is how they all look together:
Josh wanted me to take this picture to show that it is one drawer in the baking center and not two - even though it looks like there should be two.
We now get the fun task of organizing all of our canned goods and such so that they all fit in the pantries. We also need to shorten the legs on the counter because it is actually counter height and is therefore higher than the counter that the Kitchen Aid and Bread Machine are sitting on.

Ok first I am laughing because I misread and thought you said my new panties. LOL
Secondly, they are gorgeous. I love that whole wall honestly!!!! Great job!

That's too funny because I had to give the subject line a second look before I added the new entry, lol.
Thanks so much, we are really liking the new additions to the kitchen. We live in a trailer and they don't have a whole bunch of cupboard and counter space, so these are helping a lot. =)

THAT looks fabulous Becky!! It's fun to have an organized kitchen isn't it? I hope you are feeling better soon. The roads to Sundre were plowed and sanded this morning (yesterday they were horrendous!!) Have fun in your new kitchen! Lori D.

Thanks, Lori - wait till you get to see them in person. The only downside that I can see to them is that I had to take the maps off of the wall .... guess those get to go up in the toyroom now. =)

Thanks so much, Gloria - I really like how the whole thing turned out as well, just like I had it pictured in my mind. =)
The baking center is actually a microwave cart/stand that we got at Wal-Mart. It was the perfect height for my Kitchen Aid (I have a bowl lift model so needed room for it), which was one of the reasons that we got it.

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
