"Time's Up" unit and a bit about school

Josh had a chance to try out the "Time's Up" unit today - he said that he really liked it, and that it was nice that it gave him some warning beeps before it actually shut the system off. He was very proud of the fact that he shut the "Time's Up" off before he ran out of time (I think he only had about 5 seconds left - but he didn't wait for the machine to shut it off). It was really nice today, we had Bible Study at the Manor House and both the kids got quite a bit of their schoolwork down while we were there. After Bible Study, we came home and had lunch - right after lunch, Josh finished up his math (and was done his schoolwork for the day) before we left for swimming lessons. The reason he was so motivated today ... he wanted to play his new (to him) game system, whatever works, right???? Charlotte dawdled a lot yesterday, had a couple of melt downs, and because of that she was unable to use the game system today .... it appears as though she is in a dawdling mood again today. It is mainly with her math that she is balking at - it is her absolute least favorite subject and so she tries everything she can to get out of it (remind you of someone you know, Pam? ). I'm not sure how to get her out of this, but I hope it happens soon - I'm getting a little tired of fighting her on it. |
