Dentists, knitting and more Posted in Family Life
Today was a pretty busy day. It started out with a bunch of running around town (did you know that the Sears Wish Book is out already - it's only August!!!!!!!!!!!). First stop was to get some gas in the car and then off to the Post Office to pick up a parcel, next we swung over to the Sears outlet and picked up the Wish Book (my kids have been pouring over it since we got it home, lol), last stop in town was to go and rebook Charlotte's hair appointment. We got all of that done and then it was off to the city to take the kids to the dentist.
We were about 40 minutes early getting into the city so we walked over to the Everything For A Dollar Store - I really like that store, everything in there is literally $1 (how cool is that!?). We wandered around in that store for a bit and then headed over to the Dentist (they wanted us there a bit early). Our appointment was for 11:00 but it was about 11:15 when they finally called Josh in - final verdict for him was that he only has two wisdom teeth (both of them are on the top) and he has one molar that has no adult tooth underneath of it (his aunt has the same thing, lol) - the Dentist said that we really need to take special care of that tooth, since it has no replacement. We need to take both the kids in twice a year for cleanings and so that if any preventative measures need to be taken against cavities then we can catch them when they are small. Charlotte only had one cavity and she only has one wisdom tooth (also on the top).
I managed to get quite a bit of knitting done today while in the waiting room - I'm half done one of the Christmas projects I'm knitting. Next appointment for the Dentist is in October and then they have their 6 month check up booked already for the beginning of March (or maybe it's the end of February - they are going to send me out a reminder for it, which is probably a really good thing, lol).
Josh is counting down the days until we go back to the Hospital and get his arm checked out - I'm not sure if he thinks that the cast will be coming off for good then, or what, but he is sure looking forward to that appointment. Maybe he is hoping that the really nice nurse that gave him ice cream will be there and give him some more, lol.
Well, I am off to see what else I can get accomplished today.

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
