A little bit of this and that
Posted in Pictures
It has been almost a week since Josh broke his wrist and I am pleased to report that he is doing much, much better - the pain level is down to between a 0 and a 2 (0 being absolutely no pain and 10 being the most you have ever experienced in your life), so that is good .... he is also being able to wiggle his fingers a bit more every day (the nurse told him to do that to keep the circulation going to his fingers). We go back to the hospital on the 30th to see how things are healing, how long he will have to wear the cast, etc.

He is also enjoying getting family and friends to sign his cast:
His Auntie (my sister) wrote "Insert Itching Powder", lol, and in case you were wondering .... no, he didn't sign his own cast, lol, one of his best friends is also named Joshua.
I have been knitting up a 'kitchen set' for myself - I seem to knit these for others and never keep one for myself. Anyway, a kitchen set includes a towel that hangs from the oven door, a Tawashi (Japanese circular scrubby) or two and if I have time I will include a dishcloth as well. I was pretty much set for dishcloths so I didn't make any of those, but I desperately needed a towel and some more Tawashi's.
I decided to have my Kitchen Aid help with the modeling of them, lol. I think they turned out pretty well.
Oh, and for those of you who are going to be asking (namely the MKR ladies), yes, I have been working on the Pink Monstrosity Cardigan, - I was working on it last night after the kids had gone to bed.
I do however need to get going on my Christmas knitting - I usually start working on that in January, but I have had a lot of paying orders for knitting this year, so it hasn't been started yet .... oh, well, I'm sure 'Pinky' won't mind, lol.

scroll down until you come to the one that says 'Dishcloth Duo', click on it and it will download it onto your computer (this is a PDF file.
I have so much fun making these - my two favorite types of yarn to make them with are either cotton or rug type yarn (this makes it very durable to scrub pots with).

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
