Finished Knitting Project Posted in knitting
No, I didn't finish the Pink Monstrosity Cardigan (which has now been dubbed 'Pinky' by certain members of my knitting group, lol).
I had found out that Usha (a co-worker) was leaving the Drug Store to move North with her husband (I found this out on Saturday), needless to say, this put me in a bit of a panic because I hadn't even started her baby blanket (good thing I took the needles, pattern and yarn with me so that I could work on it during my coffee and lunch break). Now, I have been knitting like a mad woman to get this done by today because this was her last day.
Here are the results of my feverish knitting - Charlotte's doll (Daniel) is the wonderful model:
 Here the blanket is folded closed with the bottom flipped up to keep those little toes nice and warm.
 I folded back the top corners of the blanket so that you could kind of see Daniel - the color that shows in the picture is pretty accurate to what it looks like in real life.
I really enjoyed working on this blanket and absolutely love the features that it has: a hole so that you can buckle the baby into the car seat without having to totally unbundle them, a hood, and the little flap that flips up to keep their feet nice and warm. If you don't want to use it all folded up around the baby, you can use it flat - or if the baby gets to long for the bottom to be folded up then you can just leave it unfolded (if that makes sense, lol).
Anyway, Usha absolutely loved the baby blanket and she just couldn't get over that I made it for her, lol, she told me that she will send me a picture of her baby modeling the blanket and that I can post it on my blog if I want - isn't she just the best?, lol.

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee

≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
