Home today Posted in Daily Musings
Today we are staying home - that is such a wonderful thing, it seems like we have been on the go for quite some time (even though in my head I know we haven't, lol). Yesterday we stayed home too, we had some friends come over for a visit and we had a great time.
On the agenda for the kids today is them cleaning their rooms - not just moving things around so that it 'looks' clean but actually 'putting things away where they belong' clean. What sparked this type of cleaning? Charlotte has misplaced something and she really needs to find it - so as a result, they are both cleaning their rooms, lol.
I need to get some mixes made up today .... I'm thinking about making my stain removal stuff (kind of like Spray n'Wash), some pudding mix (we are totally out of that) and I think I am going to make up some of the Cornbread Pancakes into mixes (just leave out the wet ingredients). This is my way of having the convenience of having a mix on hand without having to go and buy the mix from the store .... and I can pronounce the names of the ingredients that go into the mix, lol.
On the Crafting Front I will be working on some Christmas presents today - I know, I know, its only the beginning of June and I'm already working on Christmas presents .... if I don't work on them now, though, they won't be done in time for Christmas. We tend to make, probably, about 80 - 90% of the gifts that we give at Christmas and a lot of them I don't start until the middle of December (that is the baking that I do up).

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee

≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
