Recent Excitement Posted in Pictures
There has been a lot of traffic going up and down the gravel road in front of our place - the reason ..... one of the roads has been washed out by the river since the recent rains that we experienced last week.
It has been really interesting to drive around and check out where it has flooded and where it looks like people should really be checking into a Motel room, lol. Here are some pictures so that you can see what I am talking about:
This first one is down at the bridge that is close to where we live
This next one is where the washout is and you can see some people on their motorbikes crossing it (notice that the vehicle is turning around to go back up the hill, lol, and the guy standing in the water is encouraging the person on the bike to cross the water):
Here is how high the water is on the bridge:
This is a picture of the lower field where we live (thankfully we live on the top of the hill), we took this one yesterday and the water is much higher today ... it is surrounding the pumpjack now:

This is a picture of one of the horse sheds that belong to the people who own the property in the picture above (it's the blue rectangle in the water):
This next picture is of the bridge on the North side of town, you can see how high the river is and how much debris has been washed up because of it:

This next one is taken at one of the Golf Courses .... that's some water trap, wouldn't you say?
and since you can't really see what the sign says, here is a closer view of it (it says Par 4 ... not sure if that is entirely accurate right now, lol):
Tonight we went down to the lower field to check out the water level and this is what we saw ... this is one end of one of the culverts (right about in the middle of the picture you can see the waves as the water is gushing out of it ... but it is buried under the water and is not keeping up to it so well):

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
