It's been a while
Yesterday at Church our Minister had the kids up front for Children's Story (she does this every Sunday) and she was discussing the Apostle Paul with them, how before he became Paul his name was Saul and that he wasn't very nice to Christians. She goes on with the story, saying that "while Saul was on the way to Damascus, he suddenly encountered the Lord. And the Lord said to him "Saul, why are you persecuting me?"". She discussed with the kids that the Lord struck Saul with blindness that would last for three days, during his blindness the Lord spoke to Ananias and told him to go and lay his hand upon the head of Saul and this would take away his blindness. When Ananias did this, it was like scales fell from Saul's eyes and he was able to see again, this was literally a life changing event for Saul and he became one of the most vocal followers of Jesus to spread the Good News around the world.
The item that our Minister held up was a butterfly, and she was trying to get the kids to see that in many ways Paul's life was like that of a butterfly. When he was Saul, he was not a very nice person to the Christians - in fact, he was pretty destructive to them (much like how some caterpillars are with trees). Then the Lord made him blind for 3 days (think of it as his time in a cocoon), and in those three days he had time to reflect on the fact that the man that he thought was dead (Jesus) was actually alive and he had had a very close encounter with Him ... he had time to think on the fact that even though he had been so zealous in his persecution of Christians, Jesus was kind enough to only strike him with blindness (Saul could have easily been struck dead for the atrocities that he had done against the followers of Christ), but God is good and he changed Saul's heart so that he was helping those who he had previously wanted to hurt ... and to make it so that he would always remember this change in him, his name was changed from Saul to Paul (the butterfly emerges).
So my question to all of you, is the same question that our Minister asked the children and the adults in the congregation - do you want to be the caterpillar or the butterfly?

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
