How the yogurt turned out Posted in Daily Musings
Well, due to the fact that Don helped my sister rip out some of the flooring in the bathroom in the basement at my Mom's, we didn't get home until late .... to late to make the yogurt. Oh, well. I made some up today and it is incubating as we speak (so to speak, lol).
I had read a recipe (can't remember where I found it now) that showed how to make flavored yogurt ... so, I decided to try it out - I made mocha flavored yogurt .... when I mixed the chocolate syrup and the instant coffee in with just the plain yogurt, I really liked it so decided that that was going to be the flavor of choice for this batch. I'll let you know if it is as good as I hope it will be.
Last night on our way to my Mom's to pick up the truck, we stopped at a restaurant for supper. On the menu was an item that immediately caught my attention, are you ready for this .... onion rings poutine!!!!! Now for those of you who have never heard of poutine before, it is french fries with gravy and mozzarella cheese melted on it. Onion rings poutine has gravy and mozzarella cheese melted on it ... it was soooooooooooo good, I was a little skeptical at first because who ever heard of putting gravy on their onion rings?????? But, as the movie critics say "I'll give it two thumbs up", lol.

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
