What I am knitting now Posted in knitting
Yesterday, I finished knitting one of my fuzzy mittens. I just have to finish the thumb on the second mitten and then the pair will be done. I got the yarn from Wal-Mart (Canada), it is called Sean Sheep Cassowary and the color is called Atlantic. The mitten is fuzzy on the outside and even fuzzier on the inside, there is some wool mixed in with the yarn so I am hoping that they will be pretty warm. Here is a picture of the first one that I finished yesterday:
 It isn't the best of pictures, but it is not the easiest for me to take a picture of one hand while holding the camera with the other one, lol. Here is the pattern that I used for this mitten, I knit more rows than the pattern actually called for ... what I ended up doing was trying it on as I was knitting the mitten (this was after I had the thumb gusset done, then it wasn't so tight when I was trying it on). http://webhome.idirect.com/~quanah/patmohairmitts.htmlThis is a pretty easy pattern done up on double pointed needles.

Thanks, Mona. I finished them and managed to wear them for about 10 minutes when an old friend of mine bought them and ordered a matching keyhole scarf to go with them, lol. So, I bought some more of that yarn and am going to make another set up, lol.

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar
***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!
* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
