Great Day For Winter Time Fun

We are being extremely blessed with the amount of snow that we are getting lately (it is beginning to resemble the winters I remember as a kid). Both the kids are absolutely thrilled that we are getting more of the white stuff and are spending more and more time outside playing in it.

Yesterday, the kids weren't feeling totally well (they have been battling a cold ... Charlotte for over a week and Josh seems to be just at the start of it). So, I sent them outside to get some fresh air - it didn't matter to me if they just sat on the front steps visiting with each other, at least they were getting fresh air. As I walked past our kitchen table, I happened to look out the window and here are some pictures of what I saw (just as a side note, he asked her to do this to him, lol):

That's Josh laying face down in the snow while Charlotte scoops up some snow with her shovel.

Here is how Josh looked after he crawled out of the snow that was covering him, lol.

Every where else in the world. children bury people in the sand.Not Canada. I have tons of pictures of my kids burying their Dad in the snow.... Gotta love winter!

I love snow! I wish we had snow like we used to. Winters always seem to be warmer and drier than what they used to be. We were supposed to get a winter storm tonight through Wednesday, but now they are saying that is going to turn into rain for us. How sad. I was so looking forward to the snow. I'm glad somebody is enjoying the snow, though.

Iced Coffee Syrup
≈ coffee
≈ water
≈ sugar

***IMPORTANT***: you need a percolator style coffee pot to make this.
DO NOT use a drip style coffee maker to make this syrup!!!!!

* Make one pot of coffee, then discard the grounds.
* Add fresh grounds, percolate again, with the coffee as liquid, not fresh water.
* Do this three times.
* To the finished coffee mixture, add one half the amount of sugar (if you end up with 3 cups coffee mixture, add 1 1/2 cups sugar).
* Mix until sugar is completely dissolved.

* To use: add 2 - 3 tablespoons of syrup to a 10 oz glass of milk, stir to mix and enjoy.
