Requested Recipe

Today while we were at Mug Up, my friend Pam requested my recipe for Taco Seasoning Mix; so I thought that I would post it on my blog. ![]() Taco Seasoning Mix
1 tsp. salt (1/4 c) 2 tsp. cumin (1/2 c) 1/2 tsp garlic powder (1/8 c) 1/2 tsp. onion powder (1/8 c) 2 tsp. chili powder (1/2 c) 1/8 tsp. cayenne (1/16 c) 1 Tbsp. corn starch (3/4 c) *Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container. NOTE: the amounts in the brackets are what I use to fill a quart jar of this seasoning mix (it doesn't totally fill the jar but it makes it so that it lasts a lot longer than when I make it up each time, lol) To Use: 2 Tbsp. Taco Seasoning Mix 1 cup water 1 pound lean hamburger *Fry the hamburger to desired doneness. Stir in the Taco Seasoning mix and slowly add the water, while stirring. Reduce heat and let simmer until mixture is fairly dry. One way that we really enjoy using this mixture is over rice - the kids absolutely love the Taco meat this way and will always ask for seconds of this particular dish. ![]() |
