It is sad and scary that she died trying to be free and easy and just live life with abandon. I wonder how many Kristen's are out there right now, living naively on the streets without a care in the world? Or how many Kristen's are runaways who are on drugs or running away for different reasons or homeless? It seems that no one is safe just taking a walk/run around the block, but how many people are out there who do that all the time and nothing ever happens to them?
Remember Rachel Cooke? Authorities said that she could see her house when she disappeared from a run; that was 7 years ago. Her parents still wonder what happened to her; they will most likely go to their graves never knowing. For me, your mother, losing you or you sister under any of the above circumstances would be a nightmare/hell on earth. Now that you and she are parents, I know you feel the same way. Scary isn't it?
Sorry for getting a bit off track. There are soooooo many variables that come with the choices people make about how to live their lives. Thank you for the "food for thought."
