Rain!

It finally rained here last night after I don't know how long!  I keep seeing all the coverage of this flooding up north and feeling sorry for all the rain they're getting, but come on!  We need some down here.  My pasture is turning extra crispy and my hay man says he won't have hay to sell me come fall if he doesn't get some rain.

I was a little disappointed that it only rained 1/2 inch.  We need more.  It's only supposed to get up to 93 degrees today, so the grass better drink it up while it has the chance.  I don't mind feeding more hay at times like this, but the cows have very little grazing and they're wandering all over the pasture looking for fresh grass.

We're getting a little less rain that average.  Last month we were an inch short of average.  This month we're about 2 inches short so far.  I don't have as much as stake as some of the farmers around here, but I'll be praying for more rain soon, as I'm sure they will be.
