My family and friends are important to me as is practicing a Christian lifestyle I am interested in farming - specifically American Curly horses, Romney, Shetland, Merino sheep and earn my keep as writer, photographer, speaker, and I do consulting work in AgriTourism helping others increase their farm income I use the blended fiber from both horses and sheep to spin, knit and weave wearable items I enjoy reading and try to read the Bible through every year in addition to novels by Jan Karon, Katherine Valentine, Jeanine McMullen, C S Lewis and Jennifer Chiaverini who are favorite authors

 Thistle Cove Farm | 29 entries, 65 comments | | Thistle Cove Farm is a small acreage farm in the Appalachian Mountains of southwestern VA. We live in the same valley my husband's kin settled in the mid 1700's and only three hours south of where my Daddy's kin settled around the same time. I raise and breed hypoallergenic American Curly horses, Romney, Shetland, Merino sheep and use the blended fiber from horses and sheep to spin, knit and weave. I come from a long line of shepherds, homesteaders, farmers, spinners, weavers, knitters, crocheters and keepers of the home. It's a proud tradition and heritage and I'm blessed beyond my deserving...but I don't mind. No, I don't mind at all and like my cousin, the preacher says, "God is good all the time and all the time God is good". |
