I gradually came to believe that the "old time" way of living (including trusting in Chirst as savior and relying on God daily) is superior in many ways to the cultural "norms" of the 21st century. Learning a homesteading type of life has been a great adventure for me and my family these past few years, and I feel that it has been pleasing to the Lord. I have been married to the same wonderful wife since 1988 and we have been blessed with 5 children whom we are raising as "arrows" for His kingdom. Welcome to our homestead in the hills of eastern Kentucky! We are a Christian home schooling family with 5 wonderful children. God has blessed us with somewhere between 35 and 100 beautiful wooded acres of Pure Water Hollow. We will share our adventures as we strive for a simpler, back to basics type of life for the glory of God! Since 2004 we have purposefully been moving toward a more self-reliant situation for our family. The more we achieve, the more things we notice that are still lacking as we journey along this path toward self-sufficiency.
