Doing My Best to Enjoy a Simple Christmas!

Hi Everyone. Today brings about a battle between wanting to simplify...and missing the Christmas Hustle and Bustle and all of the shopping. My husband bought the few small gifts we got for the kids, and we are not doing any more than that in the gift world. I know that this free's up time and energy to be focused on our Lord and the birth of the Savior...but my flesh is missing SHOPPING, WRAPPING, BAKING, ETC. Lord, help me to rest in you and experience your love. AND help me to initiate meaningful traditions for my family that are not tied up in commercialism. TALL ORDER! Amen!

I can totally relate! We are trying to really minimize all of the unimportant stuff this year....but some things I do miss! Next year will be easier as we build these new traditions with our families! :O)
God bless!

I will tell you from experience...........
It is a treat, and a blessing when you reduce the junk out of the season.
Our decorations are modest, and minimal.
Our entertaining is modest and minimal.
Our gift giving is very modest and minimal. (each child receives 3 gifts, only)
Our nerves are not fried. Our bank account is not empty. Our credit card is not full. Our hearts are peaceful. Our home is not cluttered. Our time is free. Our minds are not focused on this world and the things that will pass away!!!
It is wonderful!!
