Show and Tell Friday
Kelli, over at There's No Place Like Home hosts "Show and Tell Friday." Proverbs 31:28 By "blessed" I mean happy, fortunate, and to be envied that she is so wonderful and such a gift to me. Look at these beautiful quilts she has made for my three youngest daughters. We received the baby's quilt yesterday and the Rubber and Doodler received theirs earlier.
What a marvelous memory she has made for the girls. They will always be able to look at their quilts and remember their Grammie. She is getting so quick at putting them together. Sewing has always been such a big part of my mother's life. I believe it's one of the ways that she chooses to express her emotions and feelings. Creating art has always been her passion and I love to see her passion come out in such a treasured keepsake. She got me started early with sewing lessons. What a wonderful skill that was to learn; I can't even put a price tag on how much that skill has been worth to me in my lifetime. Thanks Mom, for sharing your passion with my children and for passing your skill onto me. I promise to pass it on to my children and my grandchildren. Show and Tell Friday
Kelli, over at There's No Place Like Home hosts "Show and Tell Friday." We received a BIG box yesterday from my in-laws. Poppa had saved all the newsclippings from the assassination of John F. Kennedy. On our move from Colorado to Georgia we stopped in Dallas for a couple of days and one of our stops was to the Book Depository.
For those of you that haven't been to this museum it is called "The Texas School Book Depository (now the Dallas County Administration Building)." It is the former name of a seven-floor building located on Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas. It is dedicated to JFK's life and death. They have incredible photos of his life all over the museum. Little Woman and the Juggler were fascinated with the mystery surrounding his assassination. When they found out their grandparents had saved the newspaper clippings from that time period the girls were elated and asked if Grandma & Poppa would send the clippings for them to look over. Well, first they had to FIND them as they had been stored for the last 30 years in their garage somewhere! B & P were living in New Bedford, MA at the time, which is where the papers are from.
I wonder what some of these clippings might be worth? Blessings, Michelle Look What I Got For Valentines Day
