A Day in My Life

Posted in Family Life

Jenny, over at Little Jenny Wren  had a great idea to start journaling her day once a month.  I thought that would be fun to see what a "typical day" looks for everyone, knowing full well everybodys day would be entirely different.   Here is my second entry into my days.

Monday started like any other day at 5 a.m.  I know that seems early, but I've found that with 5 children, I need to get up early to exercise, to shower and to get some quiet time.  I also managed to unload the dishwasher and prepare for the day.

The girls got up and ready at the normal time.  We enjoy our early morning devotions.  We are currently working through the book of Isaiah.  Sometimes I feel like it's the blind leading the blind through this book.  I even bought a commentary to help, but I find that I'm in constant prayer for God to reveal His Holy Word to me as only He can do.

My oldest daughter was also up early and she made strawberry muffins for breakfast.  They were just a smallpart of the 8 lbs. of strawberries we picked on Sunday at a local packing company.  The rest we froze for my favorite summer fruit salsa recipe.  Yum- they were delicious.

We got to work on the school we needed to finish.  The weather was cold and dreary outside so we hunkered down and got our school work completed quickly.

The afternoon turned cold and rainy so we had to forfeit our trip to the park.  We instead made a quick trip to the grocery store before piano lessons.  Little woman and the Juggler are taking the lessons.  While we waited the Doodler and the Rubber played hide and go seek.  Did you know that if you sit down out in the open, but cover up your eyes and wrap your arms around your legs that it is considered hiding?  Our Doodler taught us that.

Home to a great dinner of spicy, orange chicken with brocolli, clean up, stories and quiet reading for Mom.  What a glorious day - Praise God for His blessings.
