By "blessed" I mean happy, fortunate, and to be envied that she is so wonderful and such a gift to me. Look at these beautiful quilts she has made for my three youngest daughters. We received the baby's quilt yesterday and the Rubber and Doodler received theirs earlier.
What a marvelous memory she has made for the girls. They will always be able to look at their quilts and remember their Grammie. She is getting so quick at putting them together.
Sewing has always been such a big part of my mother's life. I believe it's one of the ways that she chooses to express her emotions and feelings. Creating art has always been her passion and I love to see her passion come out in such a treasured keepsake. She got me started early with sewing lessons. What a wonderful skill that was to learn; I can't even put a price tag on how much that skill has been worth to me in my lifetime.
Thanks Mom, for sharing your passion with my children and for passing your skill onto me. I promise to pass it on to my children and my grandchildren.
What a nice post about your Mom. Love the quilts.
Thanks for sharing
Linda

Wonderful quilts! So neat to have a mom that quilts and the kids have these keepsakes made by their grandma to cherish forever.

The quilts are so much more than just what they appear to be. They are everyday treasures that often outlast their creators and even their original owners. I put a lot of love into the things I make for my children and grandchildren, as I'm sure all of us do.
That's what it's about.
These are very beautiful.
