The Bull in the China Closet
A few months ago, an elderly lady from church, named Doris, approached Maria about doing some housework for her. Maria really doesn't have the time to clean for her, so I told her I would do it.
The first time I cleaned for her, I knocked a bowl off a table and a couple small pieces broke off. Naturally I was horrified and apologetic and I glued it together before I went home.
The next time I went to her home to clean, I used the new vacuum cleaner Doris had purchased, and promptly sucked up the corner of her bedspread in it. I was just sick about it and showed it to her right away, again very apologetic. Doris was very gracious and I bought a piece of satan for repair soon after.
You can just imagine how reluctant I was to go there again. Doris had asked me to return in two weeks, which I did.
This time, when I got there, I said, "Doris, we need to pray!" She and I both prayed about the situation. I asked the Lord to help me to be a blessing and not a curse in her home. Believe me, I pray that request specificially before I go to clean now.
As discouraged as I had been, I remember the Lord bringing scriptures about perseverance to my mind. One in particular was encouraging:
"For this reason, make every effort to add to your faith, goodness and to goodness, knowledge and to knowledge, self-control and to self-control, perseverance and to perseverance, godliness, and to godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive." 2 Peter 1:5-8
Some situations can be very difficult and discouraging and we need to press on, trusting God for a better outcome.
Since I have been praying about the situation at Doris' house, the Lord has helped me to do a good job and nothing more has been damaged. Praise God!

That is great, he answers every prayer doesn't he. It's kinda funny when you think about it tho, I personally would have not gone a third time. You are a very brave lady, LOL
Have a good week.

I'll bet that despite the accidents, Doris thinks you are a blessing to be serving her as you are. I'm glad you didn't quit.
Blessings,
Patti

I don't think I would have made it a third time, but you were gracious and it was wonderful to ask for prayer with your new friend....
Glad you found peace with your situation!
