It Rained, It Poured!
We were so pleased to receive an abundance of rain Tuesday night and more yesterday, adding up to about 1.25 inches. Our area generally receives about 12-14 inches of rainfall annually, so rain is very precious to us. We have had several years of drought, which make us even more grateful for moisture. Thanks Lord!
Recently I found a scripture that really spoke to me, so I thought I would share it:
Jeremiah 18: 15 "Yet my people have forgotten me; they burn incense to worthless idols, which made them stumble in their ways and in the ancient paths. They made them walk in bypaths and on roads not built up."
The same chapter in God's Word shows us that when we continue with our own plans, we are following the stubbornness of our hearts.
I know in my own life, the idols of self and the desire for "stuff" have many times drawn me onto the bypaths. Lord, may we have the wisdom to recognize the bypaths in our lives, so we may repent and return to the ancient paths, which lead to intimacy with You and a life which pleases You. Amen!
