A Fruitful Trip
Greetings everyone. We woke up to a little snow on the ground, which is good since I fertilized the lawn a week ago.
We returned last night from a trip to Livingston, which is located in the very scenic south-central part of Montana.
David had spent three days at an ag banker's conference in neighboring Bozeman and we drove down on Friday and picked him up.
Maria had sent an application to Montana Bible College in Bozeman as well as Ecola Bible School in Oregon. She was quite smitten with Ecola due to its view of the ocean. We went through a tour of MBC, intending to rule it out, but we were pleasantly surprised.
MBC was a beautiful facility that focuses on building relationships between students and faculty and between the students themselves. Their "dorms" were actual apartments that house four girls. Maria, who loves to cook, was amazed at the beautiful kitchens in each residence.
The course of study seemed top notch and the ministry opportunities were limitless.
At Ecola, she found more of an independent study atmosphere and tiny dorm rooms with no cooking facilities. Their courses appeared good as well, but the ministry opportunities were somewhat limited due to the size of the town.
We have told her to pray about which school to attend. Meanwhile, her dad and I will be praying that the Lord will draw her to the right place, hoping it will be Bozeman!
It is such a contrast to go to the Livingston-Bozeman area of Montana. Our county, Pondera, and its neighboring counties are losing population, while Park and especially Gallatin counties are growing in leaps and bounds. There are numerous housing developments going up around Bozeman and neighboring Belgrade. Who can blame people for wanting to live there? The area is beautiful!
Lavonne, I'm sorry I didn't make arrangements to stop at your shop and see all your beautiful crafts. It was a quick trip. I hope to do better the next time!

Sounds like those counties are growing the way Flathead County is. I agree...it is a beautiful area, but if development continues at the pace it has, 30 years from now, it won't be.
Oh, I'm pulling for MBC as well. Ecola is so far away.

Wow, wouldn't that be wonderful if she could be closer! That setting sounds wonderful. I want to go to Bible school and live in one of those apartments too! Oh, wait...I think my hubby might object to that! LOL I sent you an email from my regular address. I hope it went through your spam filters. I'm glad you had a nice weekend.

I am so glad you posted about MBC. My daughter is looking at schools, even though we have a couple of years yet. I would love it as we are only 80 miles from there. I guess I don't want to see her go to far away.
