Still Snowy in Northern Montana
Well, we got another snowstorm Saturday. It was the heavier, wet snow we only see during the spring months. A lot of it is still with us and we are expecting more tonight or tomorrow. Believe me, I have no complaints after enduring several years of drought.
This is the first year in a long time when the children are actually wearing out their boots and snowpants. The last time we went to Great Falls I got some knee high rain boots for Jonathan. It was $15 well spent since he loves to splash in puddles, play in very wet snow and ride his bike through all forms of mud, snow and ice. In other words, he is a normal boy. It tends to make a mess, but I would much rather have him doing something active than sitting in front of a television or computer.
Maria was able to come for a visit last week. She drove to Conrad last Thursday evening after work and she, Jonathan and I slept in my bed together since David was still in Bozeman. She came to preschool with me and helped with the children. When we were done, she brewed a pot of delicious Morning Light coffee. It is always a treat to have her visit.
David returned home from Bozeman later on that night bearing gifts. Jonathan got a camo jacket for springtime and I got several items. He brought two grow lights so I can start seeds in the basement, a small cast iron pan that bakes cornbread in the shape of ears of corn and some rather interesting coffee beans from Wheat Montana. I said, "David, did you know that there is wheat in this coffee?" The bag contained about half roasted coffee beans and half roasted wheat berries. I couldn't imagine that it would make a very good cup of coffee, but it's delicious. I will have to check the Wheat Montana in Great Falls to see if it's available there.
I will close for now and get home and start some bread and finish some cleaning. Have a wonderful week.
