A request for my daddy's birthday...

Tommorrow would have been my dad's 66th birthday. As most of you already know he passed away last summer from a brain anurysm. The man never really had a sick day all his life....or at least he never really complained or slowed down. The sunday that the anurysm blew I had kissed him goodbye, joked around a minute and I left the church early....45 minutes later I got the call that he was being rushed to the hospital...10 days later we let him go. I am telling you all this to make you realize how quickly life can change. We are not promised any certain amount of days....For his birthday I would like all of you that still have your dad to give him a call, a hug, let him know you love him. He may not be perfect...he may drive you insane...he may be insane...but he is your dad and you do love him....you know you do!!!! Dont let this day go by with any regrets of not letting the ones you love know it.

And for those of us who have lost our daddys....honor them by the way you live your life...nothing can bring them back again...I would not take my dad away from heaven even for a second...no matter how badly I miss him...but we can keep there memory and legacy alive by living the way my dad lived...loving the family (especially the crazy ones), helping a friend in need, caring for your fellow man and always being the bigger person by forgiving and loving people in spite of themselves. (oh yes...and always be able to laugh...even when you want to cry!..) I love you all....in spite of yourselves..heehee!!!

Thank you. I needed this.

My dad is 63yo. He has always been a strong, hard worker. This summer, a mysterious something has struck him - his hands and arms and wrists. Some days my mom has to help him out of bed and he lacks the strength in his hands to pick up his smallest grandson (who is only 17lbs and off the charts for his age he's so small!). I've always been a daddy's girl and watching him age so quickly is tearing me apart!

I wish the doctors could figure out what is wrong, Lor-tab doesn't touch his pain, only prednazone (sp?). He's been going to MD's over 6mo now.

This was a very touching reminder to cherish the time I have left with my dad.
