The hubby says facebook is killing my blog...so here I am to revive it...This might take a while...First of all, I should point out the fact that I am writting this down on paper at 4am to be retyped later, (3 days later... :P ) Having a hard time sleeping lately...could be why I have been so rattle brained.... hmmmm?!?! It is that crazy time of year on ye old homestead. The garden is really popping out, racing with the weeds and grass. Kids went to VBS for 2 weeks straight leading right up to bigdaddy's vacation time. The camper is sitting in my driveway, hooked up and ready to be hauled out to our friend's farm. They have planned a "fish camp" weekend for next weekend...we volunteered to come out a week ahead to prepare. Manicure the ponds, prepare the house, that sort of thing. Also it makes a good "trial run" for the 5th wheel...1st time camping in it. Sad thing is it looks like rain all week, except tommorrow...but it is Western Kentucky so who knows. It will be great rain or shine...what ever gets us away from the ever growing to-do list and bigdaddy's work phone!! The kids are excited too...camping seems to be the only thing we do as a family. After this it will be time to gear up for a new school year...planning field trips, lessons and looking back on what needs improvement. My baby girl will be learning as the other kids, more structure than before...PRAY FOR ME!!!! Structure is not her thing! This will make for an interesting year. They are all 4 growing into a new stage it seems. M is becoming a young lady, W is taking on more of the "guy chores" with less resistance and becoming protector of the girls (most of the time). S is learning more about who she wants to be...she is starting guitar lessons soon. She wants to sing and play...she is a diva for sure! And P is no longer the baby...just the youngest. Even I am going through a new stage in life...Pre-menopause...Yippeee!! (my poor husband) I turned 35 in March...I can already feel and see the changes coming on. I am actually taking vitamins now for energy and mental alertness...I can't focus or get up and go lately...I MUST get both of those in check before the new school year begins. On top of all of this craziness...the 2nd "anniversary" of dad's passing just happens to land on father's day this year. The closer that gets the further down I go. I am really trying hard not to be that emotional train wreck. An I can not avoid Fathers day. My kids have a wonderful daddy that deserves a great fathers day, darn it!!!! Well, daylight is breaking...time to start the day...hope yall did not mind me rattling on...I could write on and on...but time has caught me again. My sweet baby girl and her temper......

Yesterday was my mom's 63rd birthday. We had a big fish fry with most all of the family. It was alot of fun but man was it some work!!! All week was dedicated to cleaning up and preparing for the crowd. It was nice having everyone over. The kids rode Joe the wonderhorse, everyone played washers, and just got to sit around and talk. We have not done that for a loooooooooong time. One of my sisters is already plotting the next big get together. My aunt is going to be 80 this year and why not have the Big family reunion to celebrate....It won't be until October but the way time flies by it never hurts to start planning now. Below is the last family reunion I went to .....in 1995!!!!!!!!! ( I was preggers with my 13 year old!!)
So much for a relaxing weekend...

The kids and I worked booty off thinking we could relax a little with daddy over the weekend...The plant had other plans. Needless to say poor daddy pulled an all-nighter and then some....His entire weekend was sent pulling his plant out of the fires....so to speak. The kids and I ended up going to the stock show without bigdaddy :( ....The kids really did enjoy themselves. Eating pizza, seeing all of the horses, meeting new friends...and the best part was watching those crazy cowboys breaking horses to ride...
We just stayed a few hours and there was still lots left to see...I think when we get a little more serious about buying something it will be just me and bigdaddy...It seemed like the "cutest" was also the wildest....that is the way it goes...
As my oldest was off wandering with the big kids, she picked up some lovely flowers for me...and yes, my kids are eating pizza, at a stock show, using the bleachers as dining tables...We are just a little on the redneck side....but who isn't?! It was a great time and a cheap night out!!! (if only bigdaddy could have been there :( ) Today we went to grandma's church and the kids went to the Jungle mini golf and to Wendy's....BIg fun!!! They even went on golfcarts to the mini zoo at the golf range. Bigdaddy and I stayed home and got to visit with each other...We fixed a huge dinner for my family...He smoked ribs, another bacon explosion, made baked beans, coleslaw...all I had to do was make tater salad...(a couple of my uncles' favorite!) Even though bigdaddy did not get home until nearly 2am...he managed to pull of a great dinner...He is a wonder!!! Well, it is getting late...time for me to get off here for the night.... Loooong time between blogging...bad bad blogger, I know...

It has been so crazy round here....As I am sure everyone else has been busy busy too. My oldest has decided to start saving up her money...she wants a horse so bad she is willing to save up for the stock trailer herself. She is a hard working and quite the sales-woman...She has started selling eggs and doing quite well. We even sold out of our little bunnies first thing! Next thing you know she will be trying to sell her brother and sisters!! Tommorrow evening is the horse/stock auction...we are going just to look around....I will be sure to take some pictures of all the action!! We did manage to get some work done this past week...alot more sticks and fire wood gathered...It is insane. I think we have plenty!! Sad to say we have not even made it into the pasture areas yet. My uncle and cuz and buddy came over tonight to give us a sink full of redears (not yet cleaned of course) We are planning to have a big fish fry for my mom's birthday at the end of the month so we could not turn it down....so it has been a late night on top of bigdaddy working wya later than usual.... Well, I am off to bathe and bed....night all!!!!!!!!! photos from the farm...

It is all my neices fault we are having to buy one. She got a horse, which she is boarding here...My oldest is in love and now wants one, badly. He is 17 years old, blind in one eye and would not harm a fly...if we could get so lucky to get a gentle horse like Joe Joe the wonderhorse...haha In the picture below he is hiding in the "barn"...can you see him? And once the sheep realized we were down in the bottoms the had a fit wanting some grain...They are precious but one of my boys is taking longer to shed than the other...can you tell which one...Sometimes the sheerless has a down side...
After the animals were cared for we decided to take a picture of our small garden....really growing,,,

This is the third time this week I have tried to sit down and "chat"...I keep chasing butterflies though. Weather is beautiful and that makes it hard to sit still in front of the computer. Let's see, what has been going on here..... We (mom included) put in the rest of the garden....WOW!! We should be able to feed all of Western Kentucky! Then the rains set in for a day so it should do well. (I hope) We have also been clearing more brush and yard work in general. Also there is a new addition to the farm. My neice always wanted a horse of her own but never had a place for him. SOOOO, she used her sweety-pie tone of voice and convinced bigdaddy and I to board her horse. (for a while at least) I just pray the new does not wear off. He is an old man, perfect for a beginner. He is too old to care what you do as long as he gets a treat...17 and blind in one eye . I feel like I am his retirement home...heehee. He is a sweet, cranky old man set in his ways and stubborn as a mule when he wants to be. If he had a tattoo I would swear he was my uncle!!! heehee (kidding) As for my other critters, they are all doing great...the baby lambs are thriving and they are all loving the new pasture. Our 3 baby bunnies are about to move out on there own, once I fix them a spot..heehee. Again I say...busy busy busy...never a dull moment around here... On a serious note...I have a prayer request for all of you out there too...The couple I mentioned that lost their son...please pray for them...especially the mother. She is having a very hard time...Pray for her to have peace with God and herself. I lost a son due to miscarriage once and even though I never knew him in the earthly sense, the pain was still hard to get through. I can't imagine the pain of losing a son after 38 years. They were closer than most too. She was his best friend and they were always together. She cared for him every day right up to the last seconds of his life. And the father, strong as he is, he can not help and that is so painful too. I know only God can ease that kind of pain. Pray for them both please. Love on your kids a little extra today...you never know what tommorrow may bring. My kids may drive me to the point of insanity at times but I can't imagine life without them. I would not want to. ANYHOW....I have to get out of here...starting to warm up a bit and I am getting nothing done!!!!!!!! I hope yall have a great day!!!!!!!!!

I know I have been neglecting the blog, again. It has been a week of ups and downs. We did get mom moved in, for the most part... I made all 3 of the girls Easter dresses...very interesting is the best I can say. They do not look bad, just artistic....I quilt...not a semstress...I think with a little practice I may be able to do it. The girls loved what I made and that is all that matters though. Our Easter was happy and sad all at once. It was a long painful weekend. A friend, just one day short of his 38th birthday, past away...after an asthma attack. I thank God for his mercies and grace He gave to that family. He was always so quiet and sweet, I never knew he was ill. I was closer to his mom and dad. He was the baby out of all of the kids they had. He was a bit younger than all the rest so he was EVERYONE's baby...I can totally relate to that. The weather has been insane here. I had to replant my cabbages due to an escaped rabbit (captured shortly afterward). Our baby bunnies are doing great. They are starting to hop out of the nesting box and explore, driving their mommy crazy. We moved our lambs to new pasture last week...one at a time...I am no shepard I learned, the hard way Well, time to get some more things done....glad to be back!!
