• Wednesday, July 23 - Another good day

Oh am I tired.  I didn't sleep well last night.. I was up very late.. even later than usual for me.  And when I finally did go to bed, hubby kept coming in to visit while he was getting ready for work.  Silly man.  Thank goodness I don't have to get up and go to work too.. so it doesn't affect my day too awful much.  He said he felt a lot better today.  I am so thankful for that.  I worry about him and he is the type that just pushes and pushes.  He just doesn't know when to say when.  *sigh*  Our new pool pump and ladder came today.  Right on time.  It was very fast service and the shipping was free.  That saved us a bundle.  Hubby got the pump all put together as well as the ladder, but he is siphoning out the old water from the pool.. if I had known he was going to do that, we could have had it done already.. but that is ok.  There are tons of tadpoles still in the pool.  Courtney is devastated that we are going to be shocking the pool and that is going to kill all of them.  I told her the only way to save them is to get the net and a bucket and catch them and then turn them loose in the creek.  So I am sure that is on her list of to dos for tomorrow.  lol  My fridge is no longer sitting on my deck.  Thanks to Freecycle.  A lady and her boyfriend came and picked it up tonight.  And they are coming back in the morning to get the old metal shed that blew down a year or two ago.  That is that much that we don't have to deal with.  Gary also stopped by tonight and said we are welcome to use his tractor and bush hog Friday.  Our pastures really need it.  He is so nice to let us use his equipment.  I am hoping to be able to borrow it again this fall so the fields will be nice and tidy before the snow flies.  Gosh, can you believe that it is coming?? Here we are almost into August and I don't feel like we have nearly enough done.  Well, we don't.  We haven't collected any firewood yet.  Hubby says I worry too much.. perhaps, but I like to be prepared.  I really hate having to scramble at the last minute to get things done.  And with us heating solely with wood now, it is essential.  Hopefully he will get it taken care of in the next month or so.  Courtney starts school on the 26th of August I believe it is.  Wow.. and her birthday is the 13th.  I still don't know what we are doing for that yet.  She wants another pool party, which would be fine, but I really don't want to have it at the Comfort Inn again.. like last year.  I mean it was nice and all, but it was SOOO HOT in there!  We had the back door to the outside propped open and we all sat outside, those of us who weren't swimming.  The kids didn't notice it so much, probably because they were wet.  lol  Plus, we are going to be up at her grandparent's on her birthday.  She is going home with them on the 9th after the Salt Fork Festival.. hubby is playing with the band and his parents are coming to see him play..  then we are going to go up there on the 13th for a little birthday party.  PLUS, I just found out last Thursday that the 13th is the Shot Clinic for the horses for fair. Grrr..  So now I am either going to have to find someone willing to take Darcie to the shot clinic, without me, or I am going to have to pay a farm call to have a vet out to do her shots because this set has to be done by a vet.  Bleh.  I don't know yet.  I might talk to Craig and Tammy.. see if they would mind terribly to stop by and haul her and bring her home again.  I trust them to do it.. there aren't a whole lot of people I would trust to do that.  Maybe Joan too.. I don't know yet.  I have to see who all is actually going to the Shot Clinic and who is just having a vet out to their farms. Just such a bother. I am really not looking forward to fair this year.. I am not sure why.. well I may have a little bit of an idea.. I have a friend who I am kind of on the outs with.. and she has a way of making me feel really bad about myself and the situation.  She is kind of hard to get along with, but I have been friends with her since school. She was rude to me last year at the fair for no real reason and we haven't talked since. So I don't know.  It bothers me alot.  I even have dreams about her it is on my mind so much.  But I don't know what to do.  I don't think I did anything wrong for her to be mad at me and I hate the thought of going crawling to her asking for her friendship/forgiveness.  I wish I could just let her go as a friend.  I have prayed about it, but I don't feel I have found any peace or answers. =(  I am pretty tired right now, but for some reason I am fighting sleep.  I just don't WANT to go to bed.  I need to write to my PenPal, she sent me a really nice card about a week ago and I have yet to answer her.  I feel bad.  I intended to make her a card with my rubber stamps, but I just haven't had the motivation.  The story of my life. I got two more tomatoes out of the garden this evening. They were pretty small, but I am sure they will be tasty.  I should go cut up a cucumber in vinegar for my late night snack..  Speaking of food, today I didn't do real great, but I didn't pig out.. here is what I had: No Breakfast Lunch: 3 Tacos made from stuff leftover from yesterday Gatorade Dinner: Chicken Breast on top of left over peppers, onions and potatoes from Sunday's dinner Gatorade That is it.  So why do I feel like I ate more than I should have today?  Odd. Well, I think that is it for tonight.. I will be back tomorrow I am sure. =) Blessings!!

• Tuesday, July 22 - Monday musings

Yes, I know it is technically Tuesday now, but I am a night owl and still up so it is still Monday to me.   It was a pretty good day.. the weather was crazy.. raining and storming and then the sun would come out.  I think it is supposed to rain and storm more tonight and tomorrow so I didn't water my gardens. If it doesn't rain tonight, I will have to water tomorrow.. depending on tomorrow's weather of course.  I didn't do much today, again.  It seems like I never get much accomplished, but I am busy all day long. *sigh* Why IS that?  It is rather unnerving to me.. like I am losing my mind.  Kaitlyn called tonight and she is bringing TC back. =(  The cat that I let her have for her apartment.  She said he is just not working out.  She said he keeps trying to get to Skittles, her rat.. well DUH.. he is a cat! lol And she said he keeps getting up on the counters and up on their cat walk type room divider and knocking things off... She said Dusty is over it.  So my boy will be coming home.  Which is fine.. I was happy to only have three cats in the house since I put Sweetie back outside, but 4 will be ok too.  Sinkie, Kitty, Sassy and TC.  Sweetie was peeing behind the woodburner for some reason.. so I told hubby and Courtney that I was NOT going to tolerate that.  Courtney wants to bring her back and just put a litter box back there for her to use.  LOL  No.  Especially not now that TC is coming home.  She said Dusty left today for Virginia.. so she and Haley will probably be coming out sometime soon.  I really love when they come out, but I never get enough sleep. =(  And my bedroom is so crowded with Haley's pack and play in there.. maybe we can find another alternative.. like them sleeping in Kaitlyn's old room.  I don't know.  We will have to see. Hmm.. what else.  Hubby said he was having dizzy spells today at work.  I am kind of worried about that.  He came home at 7:30, laid down on the couch and has been asleep ever since.  Luckily his alarm clock is in the living room, so I will just turn it on for him.. I need to toss another load of clothes in the dryer too. Work clothes for him for tomorrow. Courtney and I went to the Cheer Leading meeting tonight.. it was pretty uneventful.. She starts practice the 31st of this month.  And we are doing a fundraiser ... selling Home Interior candles.  We have to raise over $700 for additional uniforms for the older squad.  We only have 19 uniforms and there are 23 girls signed up.  I kind of wish Shawna would have done tryouts instead.  But she is the boss, not me. lol  I am not getting as involved this year.. Last year I was just spread too thin. And fair is coming up and I am not even looking forward to it.  I do need to check Courtney's show clothes though and see what fits and what doesn't.  She outgrew her good boots I bought her last year.. one season of wearing them.  I need to polish them and get them on Ebay I guess.  I have a bunch of other stuff I need to get on there too.  Where does my time go? I just don't understand it. I have done pretty well eating today.. I have had: Breakfast: Special K with Strawberries Lunch: No lunch Dinner: 3 Tacos 3/4 Can of Bud Light Snacking: Cup of Vanilla Yogurt with Frozen Mixed Berries and a little Grape Nuts tossed in for Crunch All I have had to drink today is water and the beer.  I didn't have any Gatorade.. and haven't had Mt. Dew for days. =)  Such an improvement for me. That is it.  But I am hungry.. Maybe I will go make me up a couple Tacos.. surely that isn't going to put me over for today.  Ok, I just ate two more tacos.. so my total for today is 5.. but I had no lunch.. so that doesn't sound as bad. =) And I am drinking more water.  I need to go to bed.. it is after 2, but I had a nap this evening.. I didn't mean to.. I laid down on my bed and woke up two hours later.  Sheesh, I guess I was tired.  I am playing some games on Subeta right now too.. bouncing back and forth.. and reading some articles on better parenting.  Can we say Multi Tasking.. hehe =P Well, I think that is about all for today.. not a whole lot exciting going on.  I will try to post again tomorrow.. erm, today. • Monday, July 21 - An entry before I scoot off to bed...

Well today was a pretty good day.  I didn't do much, but that's ok.  Courtney and I went to the grocery store last night, I think I wrote about that, and I got lots of food.. I spent alot of money too.. $341 at WalMart, but we had two shopping carts full.  My fridge, freezer and pantry are stocked.. and I got chemicals for the pool.  Our new pump and filter should be coming tomorrow or Tuesday.. I am excited.  I also ordered a new ladder.. a nice big one.  Gosh, I seem to be having a bit of deja vu, I hope I didn't already post all this.  I am absent minded in my old age. =P I didn't do quite as good with my eating today..  Here is what I had: Breakfast: 1 cup Vanilla yogurt with frozen mixed berries.. YUM Hmm.. didn't really have lunch.. well, unless you count the Artichoke that Courtney and I made.  We had never tried one, so I got one last night and we made it today.. it was good, just not much to it.. and for $1.50 each, I doubt I will do that again. Dinner: Italian Sausages with Peppers and Onions on buns.. I had two, but only one sausage cause I cut mine in half.  Oven Roasted Ranch Potatoes Small Tomato Cucumber Slices Bottle of Fruit Punch Gatorade Snacking: I have nibbled here and there on about 6 pieces of potato and I just had a bowl of cucumbers sliced in Vinegar with salt. YUM! So that is it for today.. I guess it wasn't THAT bad.. but not as good as yesterday..  I can make up for it in the days to come though.  The other day, two days ago, Courtney got a 14" Cucumber out of the garden.. tonight when I was peeling and slicing it, I told her to run out and see if she could find any more.. she came in with an armload!! I couldn't believe it!  There were 9 altogether.  Several of the straight 8s and a few of the other variety I planted.. can't remember now what they are.  My pickling cucumbers are coming along too..  Oh and the tomato I had for dinner, was the first one this year out of our garden.. Early Girl.  I was tickled. =)  So it has begun!! Yay!  I have tons of Cucumbers to eat now.. and I was kind of worried they might be bitter.. but they are awesome.  God is good! Tomorrow is the cheerleading meeting.. we are getting started way late this year.. geez.  Courtney is already worried their routine won't be very good because they aren't going to have very much time to practice.  Time will tell. Well, I think that is about all for now.  I need to get to bed.. I am tired for some reason.. I have been trying to get up a bit earlier too.. not doing so great on that.  It would help if I didn't stay up half the night though. =P Blessings to all!!

• Sunday, July 20 - One more thing, my weight, finally..

Yes, it is time to address the weight issue.  I have had that thing up at the top of my blog for my weight loss for I don't even know how long.. and I haven't been making a conscious effort to lose any.  Well, that is over.  Today, I did really good.  I had:  a chicken breast salad with very little ranch dressing attempted a vegi hot dog, EW! Never again! Salsa with White corn chips.. not very many two green onions  about 4 pringles.. my daughter had some and I ate them without realizing what I was doing.. GAH!!  I also had one of those Vitamin Waters, Strawberry-Kiwi ~~more sugar than I wanted, but all WalMart had was Dasani water and I don't like the taste of that stuff.. and I was sooo thirsty after getting groceries.  Um.. what else have I had today?  I actually think that is it. =)  So I actually think that is pretty good. Hopefully I can do as well tomorrow.

• Sunday, July 20 - I ordered my pressure canner today!!

Well, I finally did it. =)  I ordered my pressure canner today from Walmart.com.    It is only the 16 Qt size, but I figured that would be fine for me.  Plus in the description it said it is ideal for flat top, ceramic stoves.  I was worried about that.  I found some information at pickyourown.org that said most flat top ceramic stoves won't get hot enough for a pressure canner.  So hopefully the description was correct.  Now I just have to get the Ball Blue Book, all the little gadgets I will need and of course all my jars and lids.  Yay!  I am very excited!
