Muddy Boot Acres

Sunday, December 2, 2007 - Advent 2007

This year I have set out yet another try at the Advent wreath. I have many devotionals that I have come across, but our church has passed out a nice Advent pamphlet that they compose or acquired. Although it is hard to sit down, get in the right frame of mind to light the candle, every year I try. This year instead of trying to demand attention, we all sit together, Tom prays over our meal, then as they start to eat, I light the candle and read the devotional for the day.

In past years we have had the Jesse Tree, growing over the years from a paper tree on the back of the door to a 12” table top tree. I had bought tiny glass ornaments that I hang. Each one has a symbol for that day taped on it which in turn goes with the scripture for that day. I seem to be the only one giving time to that one this year.
