and it came with a vengeance!  I am looking forward to seeing some rain, but hope it won't be a downpour.  I have sparingly been watering the garden, and little seedlings are coming alive.  For Mother's Day  the children bought me flats of annuals, and my oldest son brought me a white tiger lily.   I have been sure to water those individually so they will take root.   I thought marigolds were hated by little rodents?   I found them uprooted up under our flagpole.  Just like they were lifted right out of the hole I put them in.  And they were deep too!

Little by little the yard is coming back to life.  Last year we started on  really getting it into shape by putting small gardens in, trimming back.   It really is looking good.  Thanks to my oldest daughter who is in to push mowing the whole  side yard (about an acre or so)  because she wants the exercise and she can listen to her MP3.   

Another fun thing to do when it is dry and warm is to shovel out winter flooring in the goat pen!   I think I lowered the floor 18".    The  coop is the worst.   I do like a clean coop, so I broom often, but come summer I scrape, broom, and then spray with the hose.   Freshest coop in the area!   Gotta keep it clean if  you  go to all the trouble of painting it lavender for them!
