Apple Crumb Pie

A favorite fall desert:

Apple Crumb Pie

  • 5-7 tart apples (5 cups)
  • 9" pie shell (deep dish works best)
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 3/4 c flour
  • 6 Tbsp butter

Peel and slice apples.  Mix with 1/2c sugar and cinnamon.  Put into pie crust.  Mix 1/3c sugar, flour and butter into crumbs and sprinkle on top of pie.  Bake at 400 for 35-40 minutes or til golden brown and apples are tender.  Must serve warm with Vanilla ice cream.

Yes, this tastes like Apple Pie. I actually like it better than just a regular 2 crust pie. And, yes, you can eat it cold or room temp. I like it best warm with ice cream (or whipped cream). Very Yummy!
