Can I can?

A bloom from one of my hostas.

I bought some canning equipment yesterday....just the cans, lids, funnel.  I have a glass top stove and the pot I was going to buy said not to use on glass top stoves. Oy.  I guess I'll have to do a bit more research. I'm very fortunate though, because my friend, Lisa, is going to help me.  I have no clue what I'm doing.  She let me borrow her Ball Blue Book of Preserving.  I also ordered one.  It all seems so complicated at the moment, but like all things in life, just take it a step at a time and it's never as difficult as you think.

Thanks to Jennickless for the tuna recipe, and to April and Kristina for commiserating about relatives.

Guess that would be a question I would have to ask also...lol...I have only put up okra, corn, figs and string beans and they go in ziplock bags and pop into the freezer. I have never tried my hand at canning in jars...but would love to try...Debbie
P.S. I read a few of your other bloggs this morning, love the post and pictures..Thanks for a pleasant morning...Debbie

Just remember that this is TRIAL AND ERROR! Your friend will be a HUGE blessing to you! But things don't always go as planned and that's ok. Canning is so rewarding once you get the hang of it. I love to can in case you couldn't tell.;)

You’re St. Melito of Sardis!

You have a great love of history and liturgy. You’re attached to the traditions of the ancients, yet you recognize that the old world — great as it was — is passing away. You are loyal to the customs of your family, though you do not hesitate to call family members to account for their sins.

Find out which Church Father you are at The Way of the Fathers!
