Am I a pumpkin head?

I was up early watering this morning.  Took a look at what I thought was the spahetti squash.  Yes indeedy, I think it is a pumpkin.  It is turning orange and getting huge.  We ate a baby one the other day, and it was quite sweet, but so full of seeds (that looked just like pumpkin seeds) and not much flesh.  I wonder if I've got two types of pumpkins in the garden. Next year I will have to be severe and not let any rogues grow. Here's the then and now pics. I don't know what to think!

Lizzie,

That does look like pumpkin! I got in a wee bit of trouble with my husband. We had what looked like to be squash coming up with my broccoli. (In the winter I compost in the garden instead of using my tumbler.) Well, I accidentally forgot to tell the children to throw the pumpkins and gourds over our fence. I keep a pile there for such things....Well, we had these plants erupting as I stated....They are definitely not a squash. They are either pumpkins or gourds. Time will tell, I only have blossoms right now.
Have a good day!

Jennifer

I have several volunteer pumpkins growing in my garden! <sigh> I wish my father had tilled THOSE under instead of my lemon cucumber plants! LOL

They do look like pumpkins! I love your blog and photos -- they are beautiful. Good luck with the visit from your mom. I saw my brother for the first time in 9 years this past February. He had hurt our family terribly and I had a hard time even looking at him. I just figured God brought him back into our lives for a reason and I had better just deal with it. I didn't enjoy the visit at all but I got through it. Good luck to you and take care!
