The Paschal Home

• Friday, January 25, 2008 - A Dreary Lazy Day

It's COLD, and it's sleeting, with a mixture of freezing rain. If we were all home and could just bundle in by the fire as a family, I'd be trilled! But Hubby has to drive 4 hours north today to get the girls, and I worry for him. But, on the way, he's stopping in Little Rock at his old company to negotiate some contract work they want him to do, and that's hopeful! I just want them all the be safe. Fridays are my favorite day! Hubby is off work. We don't schedule any homeschool. (we do use this day to catch up on anything we are behind on though) It's just a lazy day for us. And the best part, we ALL sleep in! YAY! ACTUALLY, today I couldn't sleep, (something to do with a squirming 3 year old who had crawled into our bed in the night!) so I got up early and took a REALLY REALLY REALLY long shower. It was so fantastic! And when I did emerge, I found that hubby had cleaned my kitchen all up for me! (Usually I do this before I go to bed at night, but I was feeling bad last night so I just went to bed with the promise that I would tackle it first thing in the morning) But Hubby did it while I was in the shower!!! He's so sweet. Then we snuggled on the couch and watched "3:10 to Yuma" which was SOOO good. So now he's on the the road, the boys are eating their lunch, chicken soup with edemame, oranges, and fish sticks. I'm having a Bean and Rice Quesadilla. Then we are going to make a batch of Blueberry muffins with the blueberries I found in the freezer, so the kids will have something to snack on this weekend! And I may make up some Yeast Dough to make some rolls and bread with! Our Daniel Fast is over in 2 days! I'm already planning my menus for next week. Although Justin is staying on it for another month so i still have to be careful what we eat when he is home. (And hide all the tempting stuff so he won't see it!) So far I have a Zuppa Tuscana Soup (like at Olive Garden) {thanks Kym for pointing me to that recipe!} and lots of homemade bread! I'd also like a big pot of Beef Stew this week. I know I want to make some White Chocolate Macaroons too! The rest is depending on what's on sale at the grocery store! Well, I better get moving. Lots of cleaning to do before Hubby and the girls get home! God Bless!
