Sunday, February 17, 2008 - Our other house

Posted in Remote Living
Hi everyone.

After the snake incident in our new house, we invited a real estate agent to tell us what it would be worth to sell.  He also gave us some ideas.  So we spent a day removing lattice from the side verandah.  This made such a difference.  So now we are concentrating on summer jobs, like painting outside while the weather holds.

I hurt my back and have spent the last two weeks recooperating.  So I couldn't sit on the computer long.

My husband came with me to shop on Wednesday.  I usually shop on Thursday but his work was having a strike and he didn't wished to be included in the strike so we went a day early.  We got lots of hardware for the house while we were there.  Our bank had a major computer breakdown just before we bought the hardware, so we were able to get the paint with a smallish offline transaction the bank offers.  Then we had to wait two hours for our pay to come into our other bank, as we were a day early.  It all turned out in the end, and we had a nice lunch together which had probably never happened with us before!  The next day during the strike two of my children were home, and we made the 50 min. trip again and they helped me with the bags.

Today dh is putting the paint to good use on the front little verandah.  It will replace the 70s olive green.  The house has turned a corner with the painting of two floors with tung oil, it made such a big difference.

I have recovered from the idea that the girls had to go back to their old school and everything seems settled.  Still organising ballet shoes at their old ballet school and they are a size larger in leotards.

Some butterflies are hatching here, keeping everyone amused.
