2006-Mar-28 - IT's GARDEN TIME.....and the Deer know it!
I love the beauty of deer.....I think they are amazing to look at and watch.....pure beauty of God's Handiwork....
but.....
I DO NOT think so highly of them when I find all my tulips eaten....or roses bitten off at the head......!
I have learned a couple things along the way......
1) Deer don't appear to like daffodils....score one for the gardener!
2) Altho it may sound really gross, human urine WILL REPEL deer......it must be kept in whole form......not watered down by rain, either....
I have known folks to buy decorative containers with lids (holes in sides or decorative part) and hide a soda can full of human urine in it---it WORKS, I know. (all I am sayin here)

We all pee outside around here. My Mom thinks its grose but it's better then having deer in your garden. DH and the kids love to pee outside just for the freedom. LOL I don't know why people have such a hard time with it.

I too love to see deer. We see them ever so often in our backyard here as well as long the roads around here.
Human hair strewn around your garden and flowers will help deter them as well as rabbits that may want to come munching.
If you are don't have human hair to do this, call your local barber shop or beauty shop and tell them what you want it for, and they will save it for you.
