Our Little Homestead

2006-Jan-3 - today........

What a day!?  It's been quietly crazy here--I think we are so overjoyed to be feeling better from the flu -- we're giddy (or still medicated?!).  Lots of laughs today, gotta love that.

It's a relatively quiet day here....chores and catching up with cleaning and from being ill (all of us) for over a week, and with the holidays and all.....well, I'll let you imagine how things look around here. Your mental image can't be as bad as it truly looks around here.

Actually, I should say, my darling husband has helped catch up all the dishes, laundry, etc etc...and let me sneak off and get out of it and work. So it's not THAT bad.....I'm just a little over the top (so I hear) on the organizing thing. :)

All n all a wonderful day!  He is cooking dinner and whatever it is it smells DEvine! It is SUCH a blessing to have him home!  I pray he can continue to just stay home !

I have been lurking around today here, and I have to say--what a talented, interesting group we have assembled here! WOW!  So much fun to read all your posts on what is happening on your homesteads!  I found some awesome recipes too!   Some great ideas, and lots of encouragement~what a great community!

I should sign off--I still have much to do and we want to make bread later and I want to prep to make a batch of candles tomorrow--the house will smell heavenly!

Blessings!

Lisa

2006-Jan-3 - Candles!

Posted by kayinpa

I love candles..how cool that you make your own. I bought some of the basics once...wax, wicks and something else I forget, but have never tried yet. What kind of candles do you make? Have a good night. Glad you were able to enjoy some time to yourself!

We make soy and soy / beeswax candles, I will have more info on my blog here on them, shortly ;)
Soy candles are clean burning, unlike parrafin~which is a petroleum base~EW!
I love candles, and love creating them, customizing them (colored wax, (or not) scented or unscented, etc.) Lots of fun~we enjoy it as a family, and it's a great learning tool for our homeschooled children too, helping Mama & Daddy run our family business from home.
Thanks for the interest :)
