Our Little Homestead

2007-Sep-12 - A New Season..............

This season...

The corns stalks are broken.

Potatoes are cached in dark corners,

Onions and garlic braided

And hung.

Gold peaches

In glass and plums’

Rich ruby.

Black pulp of berries

Thickens in jars.

Split cedar...Is stacked by the door

And the lamps filled.

Anchored all night in the eyes

Of this wind, the house

Billows toward the stars.
